RN Auxiliary Paddle Minesweepers

HMS Plinlimmon, (Ex-Cambria), in her wartime livery c1940 as a Minesweeper,shortly after participating in the Dunkirk evacuation. Built as an excursion steamer in 1895, she was typical of many auxiliaries in seeing service during both World Wars.

Former 'day tripper' Paddle Steamer HMS Royal Eagle pictured in November 1942.
PS Golden Eagle was built in 1909. During the two world wars she served with the Royal Navy. In World War I as a Depot Ship and in World War II as an Auxiliary Anti-Aircraft Vessel.
