WaveAway Diver Deterrent System

Unread post by jbryce1437 »

This system is a far cry from the Operation Awkward sentry duties that I carried out in the Far East in the 1960's:

The WaveAway diver deterrent system provides a less-than-lethal means of defence against hostile divers and swimmers. It is based on a customized low-frequency sonar system source that can operate continuously.

WaveAway transmits acoustic noise that deters and neutralizes incoming divers and swimmers with escalating effects. The system will dismantle the intruder’s motivation and capability to approach the protected site and cause them mission abort or failure to execute.

System operation is not dependent on detection of the intruders and does not involve firing weapons of any kind.

WaveAway can be installed in strategic locations or operated from a patrol boat or unmanned surface vehicle (USV). WaveAway can be part of an integrated maritime security suite to include active and passive diver detection systems, radar, electro-optics, video surveillance, physical barriers, command and control, and more.
