Betty and I attended a concert last night here in Plymouth by the US Army in Europe Band ... here from their base in Germany to D-Day Commemorations . A Free Show at the Guildhall and they put on Fantastic Evening of Music ...... Military , Classical and the Big Band Era [Benny Goodman , Harry James , Count Basie , Glen Miller etc] . Earlier they were at Slapton Sands to remember Operation Tiger where so many of their Countrymen perished during the training in the buildup to the Landings . And on the 6th of June we , not they , will be at the D-Day Memorial at Saltash Passage here in Plymouth where so many of them left for Normandy .
