Lead ship, Dreadnought Battleship ARA Rivadavia pictured at Boston Navy Yard undergoing turbine repairs in 1913. Built at Fore River Shipbuilding Co, Quincy Massachusetts, In mid-September 1913, Rivadavia conducted trials off Rockland, Maine, after a two-week delay due to turbine malfunctions. During speed trials on the 16th, the Dreadnought was able to obtain a maximum speed of 22.567 knots. On a 30-hour endurance trial starting the next day, Rivadavia damaged one of her turbines and had to put in at President Roads, one of Boston Harbor's deep-water anchorages.

Argentina orders new amphibious landing ship

An agreement has been signed by the Argentinian Minister of Defence, Jorge Taiana, and the Governor of the Province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, for the construction of a multipurpose landing ship, a polar ship, and a floating dock, as well as the modernisation of a MEKO 140 corvette for the Argentine Navy, at the TANDANOR and Río Santiago shipyards.
The objective of this agreement is to enhance the capabilities of the Argentine Navy and publicly owned shipyards.

Argentine Navy, Giuseppe Garibaldi Class Armoured Cruiser ARA Pueyrredón pictured on entry to Amsterdam in 1953...She was launched on July 27th 1898 at Gio. Ansaldo & Co shipyards at Genoa and served the Argentine Navy until she was stricken on August 2nd 1954. Pueyrredón was the last survivor of the Garibaldi Class, she was sold for scrap in 1957.
