Argentine Navy

Unread post by designeraccd »

Some pictures of the very early days of the RIVADERIA, still in New York. For their time the pair were quite up to date with most anything else, and decent looking, IMhO! :) DFO

ARA SAN JUAN
On Thursday, Ocean Infinity – the North American company that was set to suspend its search just 48 hours ago – confirmed that an object, approximately 60 metres long, had been discovered at a depth of 800 metres.
One day after the first anniversary of its disappearance on November 15, 2017, the missing ARA San Juan submarine has been found.
The stunning news, which has been confirmed by the Defence Ministry, the Navy and the US firm leading the search for the vessel, arrived in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Both good and bad news one way or the other I suppose , good for the grieving relations and closure , Bad for the country as now the truth may come out as to what actually caused it to happen rather than whats thought to have happened .

However if it imploded there won't be much to give clues I should think

That is one hell of a vessel the "Seabed Contractor" and one shudders to think of her running costs ,but going by the figure agreed with the Argentinian government at £7,000,000 for 60 day search on a no find no pay contract thats £116,666 per day! :o

Well no doubt the local Government will be betwixt a rock and a hard place now that the vessel has been found , what with claims , counter claims , and the bill from the "Seabed Contractor" won't help either .

Are their fleet of Submarines still in use or all tied up awaiting refurb / refit , and battery checks :?:
