HMS Rooke and Gibraltar Dockyard
HMS Rooke was the Royal Navy shore establishment in Gibraltar between 1946 and 1990, when it became a Joint Service Base. The base replaced HMS Cormorant which had been the base ship at Gibraltar.

Many thanks Harry, I have sent him a link. I also sent the link to his email address, but that may have changed over the years.

Re: HMS Rooke and Gibraltar Dockyard
Gibraltar was where the Home & Med. Fleets met after the Spring exercises . In 52 I was in Sluys, we berthed in the Pens, one ship came to berth alongside another ship, on the opposite side were already berthed two ships. The incoming Destroyer came to berth with her sea boat turned out, the resultant destruction of the sea boat & the outboard ship, on the next jetty, having damage to guard rails etc. There were so many ships in Gib. it was a tight squeeze.

Re: HMS Rooke and Gibraltar Dockyard
Spring Cruise 55 was my first on Undine , we berthed alongside the French Battlewagon FS Jean Bart .... that was impressive to a young Sparker on his first ship .... Later in 56 I was to see her again , this time leading the Task Force headed from Cyprus for the Suez Campaign.
