A successful conclusion to an in house " bun fight" Jim , which I trust all parties will now respect and contribute to with their usual vigour and enthusiasm ;) which I pray will now be accepted and left to run its course with all parties points of view having been considered and appeased , Thank you Jim for your mediation and patience on the matter .

Special delivery! 20 units of blood have been carefully delivered to #WESTLANT19 CSG by Merlin Mk4 helicopters from 845 NAS @CdrBobBond. Blood supplies are sourced in the UK, last just over a month and can be topped up in an emergency by pre-screened volunteers onboard

Clearly an essential function about which I have never seen any previous mention - anywhere

One now feels bound to delve into the grey matter in an attempt to recall how this was done in yesteryear ... and on small ships. Presumably Capt D or Capt F would have this responsibility since the sqdn leader would be most likely to be carrying a Naval Doctor/Surgeon. Hopefully a member with past Carrier experience will confirm that such ships would use COD aircraft to provide the 'initial' stocks and prior to the shelf-life expiry date made provision to replenish.

Emergency top-up by ships company volunteers - yes, but what happens if a pre-screened volunteer contacts 'something' that should require further screening before acceptance - what then?

Interesting subject.

WITH PROPOSAL AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE

A Royal Navy sailor was made an MBE and then dropped on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend at Buckingham Palace.
Matthew Gallimore, an Air Engineering Technician based at Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton, decided on a pretty epic double whammy, as he collected his MBE from Prince William and then, in the royal palace’s courtyard, gained a fiancée with a proposal to remember.
It’s an opportunity few will ever get and a chance AET Gallimore definitely didn’t want to miss.
He’d been planning this the moment since he got word he was going to get the award for his work with Commando Helicopter Force’s 845 Naval Air Squadron.
“Seeing how happy she was when I asked was definitely the highlight of the day for me,” he said.

A real F35B - ZM 148 - sighted in Pompey at about 1230 today. The buzz is that it will take off.
P.S. Tweeted update attached.

Further update
Appears that a Merlin HC4 retained for SAR/plane guard duties will probably fly off tomorrow possibly around 1400.
The F35B had canopy damage which could not be repaired in time for it to fly home with the other 2. Hence came back onboard QEC.
It will probably fly off to Marham on Friday more likely using the ramp rather than a vertical take off. Keep an eye on Warrior's web cam if interested.
