The Royal Navy's newest ship, third of the Batch II OPVs, HMS Trent arrived at her new home port of Portsmouth for the first time today.
On arrival, the Blue Ensign was lowered and replaced by the White Ensign. She will formally commission into the RN next year.

Tut Tut!! Brand new Offshore Patrol Vessel accepted into proud Royal Navy ... with visible defects

They didn't even use black tape or better still detail a 'rescue party' to:-
- a) nip on the Clyde and filch one off her
or
- b) 'rescue' one off the other OPV's (Tyne &/or Mersey) parked further along the jetty

... if necessary giving the assurance that they were only 'borrowing' one of theirs.

what I find hard to relate to is that these relatively minor warships are approx. the same size as what passed for a fully armed full size fleet destroyer not so long ago.
Perhaps I am living in the past????

Agree Tim, 2,000 tons is'nt small. Hope they are 'robust' if the Fish Wars re-commence!
