Turkish Navy,Lead Ship Frigate TCG Salihreis,a MEKO 200 TN Track II-B derivative design,(similar to the Anzac Class),built by Blohm & Voss,Hamburg in 1998.On April 3rd 2018 a contract was signed between Aselsan - Havelsan Joint Venture and the secretariat for Defense Industry (SSM) regarding the Barbaros Class Frigate mid-life modernization project Two of the Frigates of the Class have already received two 8-cell Mk41 VLS modules, which replaced the obsolete MK29 Sea Sparrow launchers. Additionally the old AWS-9 3D air search radars has been replaced by modern Thales SMART-S Mk2 3D radars.

The construction works began on April 30th 2016 at the Shipyard of Sedef Shipbuilding Inc. in Istanbul, with the keel being laid February 7th 2018, and is expected to be completed in 2021.The vessel is intended to meet the various needs and requirements of the Turkish Armed Forces, such as sustaining long-endurance, long-distance military combat or humanitarian relief operations; while acting as a command center and flagship for the Turkish Navy.
The Sedef–Navantia consortium won the tender for the LPD/LHD project of the Turkish Navy and TCG Anadolu (L-408) will use the same design as that of the Spanish ship SPS Juan Carlos I (L-61). All of the ship's weapons system will be procured by Turkish firms Aselsan and Havelsan.She will feature a Turkish combat management system, namely the GENESIS-ADVENT,which will be integrated by Aselsan and Havelsan.Aircraft Landing is assisted in all weather condition by Leonardo SPN-720 Precision Approach Radar.
Navantia will provide design, technology transfer, equipment and technical assistance to Sedef Shipyard of Turkey for the design and development of TCG Anadolu (L-408), which is classified as a Light Aircraft Carrier/LHD by Turkish Lloyd.
It will be capable of operating the F-35B STOVL stealth multirole combat aircraft...That is big IF the US consents to the sale!

Built at Istanbul Naval Shipyards,the Ada class (also known as the MILGEM project), is a Turkish national Warship program, the purpose of which was to build a modern Littoral Combat Ship with indigenous Anti-Submarine Warfare and high-seas patrol capabilities, extensively using the principles of stealth technology in its design.

She was held in reserve until at least 1957. Along with three other ships of the same Class she was transferred to the Turkish Navy as part of an agreement signed at Ankara on August 16th 1957. They underwent a refit which involved the removal of the after set of torpedo tubes and some secondary armament. They received a new deckhouse and Squid Anti-Submarine Weapons system. On June 29th1959 they were handed over at Portsmouth. Matchless, which was refitted at Harland & Wolff's Shipyards at Govan, Glasgow.She served in the Turkish Navy until 1971, when she was struck from the list and scrapped.

Turkish Navy Offshore Tug TCG Gazal (Ex Navajo Class Fleet Tug USS Sioux),she served in WWII,Korea and Vietnam.She was laid down on February 14th 1942 by United Engineering Co. of San Francisco, at Mare Island Navy Yard and launched on May 27th 1942,she was sold to Turkey on October 30th 1972.

Turkey to operate ‘carrier without jets’ in 2020

The Turkish Navy will receive the country’s first aircraft carrier next year. The problem? Turkey has been kicked out of the programme building the vessels jets.
“Our naval forces will get the TCG Anadolu, Turkey’s largest domestically-built warship, in 2020” said İsmail Demir, chairman of the Defense Industry Presidency, on Twitter.
The TCG Anadolu is based on the Spanish ship Juan Carlos I, a multi-purpose amphibious assault ship. Navantia provided design, technology transfer, equipment and technical assistance to Sedef Shipyard of Turkey for the design and development of the Anadolu.
From the start of the Turkish amphibious assault ship programme, the Turkish Navy had wanted a vessel purely designed to operate helicopters. However, local media reported that soon after exploring options for the design, the Turkish Navy later changed its plans and opted for a fully equipped flight deck with a ski-jump ramp in front, intending to purchase the F-35B STOVL aircraft. Turkish national newspaper, Hurriyet Daily News, reported at the start of the year that the country was planning to buy a number of F-35B jets in addition to its plus 100 F-35As, the paper stated that this was “planned to be procured in line with Ankara’s growing interest in strengthening its naval forces, mainly for overseas operations”, the vessel they’d fly from is the TCG Anadolu.
Jane’s had also confirmed Turkey’s interest in the the F-35B, citing Turkish and Western defense industry sources. According to Jane’s:
“A senior Turkish Defence Industries undersecretariat official expressed his country’s interest in buying F-35 STOVL variants to Vice Admiral Mathias Winter, head of the US Defense Department’s F-35 programme office, during a meeting held in Ankara in mid-October.”
Fast forward to 2019, When Turkey defied US warnings to go through with its purchase of Russian S-400 air defence system, it was warned that this could be a threat to information relating to NATO systems. Turkey ignored those warnings.
Days after the S-400s arrived, Turkey was kicked out of the F-35 programme. Turkey was a Level 3 partner in the Joint Strike Fighter programme and the Turkish vessel TCG Anadolu was designed to be capable of operating up to 12 F-35Bs and 12 helicopters.
Now, that will not be happening.
While some describe the gradual and incremental build up to a return to British carrier strike as an example of ‘carriers without jets’, this is the real thing. When the TCG Anadolu enters service, there will be no jets in training or even on order.
The headline of this article, by the way, is a tongue in cheek comment aimed at the people who (incorrectly) berate the UK carrier project for resulting in ‘carriers with no planes’.
