Pictured is the Algerian Navy Rescue Tug, El Mousif in the English Channel. The image was taken from Royal Navy Wildcat HMA2 Helicopter of 815 Naval Air Squadron.
El Mousif is the second of three identical vessels to be ordered from the manufacturers in Norway.
The 86m vessels were based on the Rolls-Royce UT515 design and have a pull strength of 200 tonnes and capable of tasks such as towing, salvage work, coastguard patrolling, oil recovery and emergency stand-by.They can reach speeds of 20 knots and are suited for patrol and fishery protection duties.
Algerian Navy tugs intensive trials and training have been conducted under the auspices of British Navy Flag Officer Sea Training in the Clyde and on the south coast of England.
