Norfolk Navy Yard pictured in 1905, the Collier USS Caesar is in the background, she was laid down as SS Kingtor at Ropner & Sons Shipyard, Stockton-on-Tees and acquired by the USN on April 21st 1898, she was struck from the Naval Register on June 11th 1922 at Mare Island Navy Yard.

President Theodore Roosevelt's Yacht USS Mayflower pictured at Brooklyn Navy Yard in 1904..In the left background is the Collier USS Leonidas (Ex SS Elizabeth Holland), built at S. P. Austen & Son Ltd Shipyard, Sunderland and acquired by the USN on April 16th 1898 and converted to a 2050 ton capacity Collier at Brooklyn Navy Yard. She was used as a Submarine Chaser Tender in WWI at Corfu in 1918, she was broken up in 1922.

Santa Cecilia Class Freighter SS Santa Clara later acquired by the USN in 1918 and renamed USAT Santa Clara pictured fitting out at William Cramp & Sons Ship & Engine Building Co Shipyards at Philadelphia c1912.

Lead Ship, Protected Cruiser USS New Orleans pictured at Brooklyn Navy Yard and on departure in 1898 for service in the Spanish-American War...She was laid down in 1895 as Amazonas for the Brazilian Navy at Armstrong, Mitchell & Company, Shipyards, Newcastle-upon-Tyne and launched on December 4th 1896, purchased by the USN whilst under construction on March 16th 1898; and commissioned March 18th 1898 at Gravesend, UK...She was sold for breaking up on February 30th 1930.
