U.S. Navy Prepares For Protracted Middle East Conflict

Tensions with Iran have escalated rapidly as the Middle East braces for possible fallout of a wider conflict, and the United States continues to deploy assets to the Middle East to ensure U.S. forces and regional allies are protected.

Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron (HM) 15 Detachment IIA (DET IIA), based in Bahrain, embarked on the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) on August 2nd. At least two MH-53Es of HM-15 stopped in the United Arab Emirates before moving on to the Roosevelt‘s position in the Gulf of Oman, roughly 70 kilometers east of the UAE. One of many moves made by the U.S. Navy as the United States prepares for the possibility of an attack on U.S. and allied forces in the region.

While meeting earlier today with both the U.K. and French Foreign Ministers; the Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs, Israel Katz told them that if Iran launches a Major Attack on Israel, they expect the Coalition to not just assist in the Defense of Israel but also Significant Retaliatory Strikes against Iran.

[That will put the cat amongst the pidgeons?]

The USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) and Carrier Strike Group 3 are heading as fast as possible towards the Middle East, though they are still likely 4 Days to a Week away from CENTCOM’s Area-of-Operations.

If VesselFinder AIS is correct, the AB is not DDG-121, she would be out of the image off her stern.

The U.S. Navy alone now has enough Assets in the Middle East to Militarily Defeat almost any Country in the World, and that’s just what has been Announced and can be seen on the Surface.

Al-Arabiya is reporting that Senior U.S. Officials according to the latest Intelligence Assessment, still believe that Iran and Hezbollah will conduct a Retaliatory Strike against Israel, with the Iranians able to launch an Attack within 12-24 Hours of a decision in being made; however it is still unclear if the Retaliation will be Coordinated between Iran and Hezbollah, or if they will each launch their own Operation.

The Buildup of U.S. Military Assets in the Region is expected to continue for the Foreseeable Future, with an Official claiming that the Redeployment of Forces depends on a Ceasefire in Gaza; but that if the Iranians cross certain Red Lines in their Retaliatory Attack on Israel, “Things could quickly go South, and we would have the ability to send an Aircraft Carrier into the Persian Gulf.”
