Boeing Awarded $3.4 Billion Contract For 17 P-8A Poseidon Aircraft
The U.S. Navy has awarded Boeing a $3.4 billion contract to begin manufacturing 14 P-8A Poseidon aircraft for the Royal Canadian Air Force and three additional P-8s for the German Navy.

A Sea Falcon UAV pictured on finals approach during UAS certification to Corvette FGS Braunschweig....May 2024....The Sea Falcon is based on the Skeldar V-200 from the Swedish manufacturer UMS Skeldar AB and can operate for up to five hours, with a maximum take-off weight of 235 kilograms, a maximum speed of 75 knots and a payload of up to 40 kilograms. It can take off and land automatically on the deck of the Corvette in up to 20 knots of wind speed and sea state 3. An integrated sensor transmits real-time optical and infrared images to the ground control station.

German Parliament Conditionally Approves Two More F126 Frigates
Two additional frigates may join German Navy after 2031, but only if Defence Ministry can meet additional contract requirements imposed by budget committee.

Schematic of F126 or Niedersachsen Class Frigate....a planned German Frigate Class intended to replace the F123 Brandenburg-Class Frigates in the German Navy. The ships are to be the largest surface warships to join the German Navy since World War II (10,550 tons). The first ship, Niedersachsen, is planned to be commissioned in 2028, with Saarland, Bremen, and Thüringen to follow.

The German F127 next generation AAW frigate is slowly taking shape. The DoD initiated first steps for a possible acquisition of the AEGIS combat management system and associated hardware. Furthermore German builder Thyssen Krupp Marine Systems (TKMS) has provided more details on the related A-400 AMD baseline design. The German Navy intends to build up to six F127 AAW frigates. The ships will replace the current three F124 combatants known in service as the Sachsen-class.
