The U.S. Department of Defense’s ongoing Operation off the Coast of the Gaza Strip is already reported to be facing Major Obstacles and Setbacks; with Pentagon Press Secretary, Major General Patrick Ryder stating today that None of 569 Metric Tons of Humanitarian Aid that has so far been Transferred from the U.S. Army’s Joint Logistics Over-The-Shore (JLOTS) Floating Dock to the Shore having yet been Distributed to the Palestinian Population. Most of the Aid is currently sitting at U.S-Operated Staging Sites on the Shore while only about 10 Truckloads have been Delivered to U.N. Warehouses for eventual Distribution. On Saturday a Convoy of 16 Trucks was Attacked and Looted while enroute to a Warehouse, leaving only 5 Trucks with a Majority of their Shipment still Intact.

A Modular Warping Tug with the U.S. Army’s 7th Transportation Brigade, which is utilized in the Offload of Humanitarian Aid onto the Floating-Dock off the Coast of the Gaza Strip, was forced to conduct an “Emergency Disconnect” from a Tugboat that was Towing it this morning, causing it to be Beached near the City of Ashdod in Southern Israel. A Small Landing Craft Mechanized (LCM) was sent to try and Remove the Tug from the Beach, with the Landing Craft getting too close to the Shore resulting in it also being Grounded, a Group of IDF and U.S. Soldiers as well as Crowd of Civilians have gathered on the Beach to try to figure out how to get both Crafts back in the Water.

Photos I took today of US army LCM (landing craft) 8558 that was involved in the floating pier project off Gaza...part of the pier drifted off due to heavy seas and became grounded on a beach near Ashdod, Israel, so the landing craft came to pull it off and also got grounded; so the USAV Matamoros came to help pull them both off.
