OPERATION PEDESTAL

80 yrs today since the crippled tanker Ohio made it to Grand Harbour Malta.
One of just 5 out of 14 ships to survive an epic WWII naval battle to resupply the Island costing lives of around 500 Merchant & RN sailors.

HMS Penzance visiting Malta on the 80th anniversary of Operation Pedestal - WWII convoy that relieved the Island at great sacrifice.
Penzance is making the 6,000-mile journey home - has been deployed in the Gulf since Sept 2020.
