HMAS Melbourne pictured recovering an Grumman S2 Tracker in 1977.....* Note the Kungah Maris forward of the bridge....Kungah Maris was an ex-RAF ASR Boat that was acquired by the Department of Defence and transported from the UK to Australia, as deck cargo on HMAS Melbourne, following her return from the Silver Jubilee Review in 1977.

The departure of former Majestic Class Light Fleet Carrier HMAS Melbourne from Garden Island, Sydney for the last time...She has just been undocked from the Captain Cook graving dock where de-equipping has been completed. She was then moved across the harbour to the Reserve Fleet moorings at Athol Bight for disposal.

Majestic Class Light Fleet Carrier HMAS Melbourne pictured in dry dock..*Note the different number of blades and style of her propellors..my guess is this had to do with offsetting the weight distribution with the island on the starboard side.
