I'm thinking that if it is the PIN mast fwd of fwd island then it doesn't carry an anemometer (sonic or otherwise) .... simply a pair of lights - with the lower one inverted - the upper one having a bird protection cone atop the light. See the image below where the light(s) on the PIN mast fwd of fwd island is/are illuminated.Pelican wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 3:40 pm P.o.W. - Our new coffee shop - https://twitter.com/HMSPWLS/status/1482004804339650577

TVM Harry, so nice to hear from you, honest squirrel - I really would not know, I was only guessing, seems odd that mini mast appearing now, perhaps for benefit of the newby's ? Regardless, considering 'we' have been out of the true carrier game for over 10 years I think all concerned are doing very well. I do wonder how many have been transferred from Q.E. to PoW recently - manning figures etc.Little h wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 11:27 pmI'm thinking that if it is the PIN mast fwd of fwd island then it doesn't carry an anemometer (sonic or otherwise) .... simply a pair of lights - with the lower one inverted - the upper one having a bird protection cone atop the light. See attached which was on this website until deleted - https://www.gov.uk/government/news/pm-c ... r-to-natox
Not the case - at least for a few weeks anyway. Was off the UK South Coast yesterday with a few helicopters embarked for training.
