It is with much sadness, I have to inform you of the passing of Ex RS(W) Pete Clark. He succumbed earlier today to Covid. Peter was a Ganges lad around 1962/3 and served on the Eagle and Diomede that I know of. He served at the College of Knowledge on many occasions and always tried to work on the pig farm when he could.
He started his Service as a bunting tosser until he came to his senses and re-sub spec'd to RO (W) and was one of the original gollies who formed the Comms(W) branch.
He left around 1974 to join Durham Fire Service where he continued until his retirement. He will be sadly missed by his wife, friends and family as he was a larger than life character. Farewell my old mate, Calm seas and Fair winds to your final draft. See you in Fiddlers Green, but not too soon I hope. It's still your round.
Wrap me up in me oilskin and jumper,
No more on the docks I’ll be seen,
Jus tell me old shipmates,
I’m takin a trip mates,
I’ll see you some day down on Fiddlers Green.
