Bridge comparisons; ASHIGARA vs. a USN BURKE. Note how the Aegis antennas and bridge structure are higher than on the USN BURKE class for presumably a better radar horizon.......DFO

Apparently (?) both in class are now to be modified. Seems a rather expensive way to get a relative handful of planes seaborne....?

Strange as it seems, but the JMSDF hasn't seen fit to SHARE with me any knowledge of when the new ZUIKAKUs might arrive!!

MAYA is on her first sea trials! Outside of their "DDHs", no doubt the most potent surface ship in the JMSDF. 96 VLS tubes.
Definitely a taller superstructure overall than the BURKES that the design was originally (3 classes back) based on. DFO
